(Nov. 3) -- British police have released a new video with computer images of what missing girl Madeleine McCann might look like now, at age 6. It's been more than two years since she disappeared on a family vacation in Portugal, in a case that gained international attention.
"The person we are looking to reach is likely to be a partner, family member, friend or colleague of the person or people who were involved in Madeleine's disappearance," said Jim Gamble, head of the U.K.'s Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre, according to a press release.
Police and the McCanns are making a new push to find the girl, who disappeared days before her fourth birthday in May 2007. The new effort comes in the wake of the Jaycee Dugard case in California. Dugard was found in August after being kidnapped in 1991.
Gerry McCann, Madeleine's father, told the BBC on Tuesday that the video is an attempt to contact specific people instead of a wide appeal for information.
"We need it to be spread far and wide, and for those people to be exposed to this message as many times as possible," he said.
Madeleine's parents said they were having dinner at a restaurant just outside their apartment at a resort in Portugal on May 3, 2007, while the little girl and her two younger siblings slept inside. When they checked on the children, Madeleine was gone.
Authorities in Britain on Tuesday released these computer-generated images of what missing girl Madeleine McCann might look like now. The image on the left shows her with dark brown hair and tanned skin in case she has been living in north Africa. Her parents hope a video plea showing the images may reach someone with knowledge of her whereabouts.

The case made international headlines as her parents, Gerry and Kate McCann, appealed to the public for help. Portuguese police named the McCanns, who are both doctors from central England, suspects in their daughter's disappearance, but they were never charged.
Portuguese police closed the case in July 2008, clearing the McCanns.
This isn't the first time a computer-generated of Madeleine has been released. The McCanns also released an image on May 1, two years after her disappearance.
The new video message is available in seven languages and is supported by Interpol, an international police agency that reaches 187 countries.
Two worldwide appeals from Interpol in recent years made headlines when the international police agency released photos of suspected pedophiles, asking for the public's help in identifying each man.
In one case, the agency famously "unswirled" a doctored photo to reveal the face of a man who was identified as Christopher Paul Neil, a Canadian schoolteacher who was arrested in 2007 for sex crimes. Neil is currently serving more than a three-year sentence in a Thai prison. The other case led to the 2008 arrest of Wayne Nelson Corliss, an actor who pleaded guilty to crimes involving having sex with boys in Thailand.
No. The fact is that this girl was most likely taken by a pedosexual, but the fact is that if pedosexuality was made LEGAL, none of these things would be happening because pedosexuals wouldn't be forced to do things like this to get a sexual encounter with someone who they are sexually compatible with.
Society has only itself to blame for things like this by turning pedosexuals into second-class citizens.

My heart goes out to any parent that has lost a child. I will never forget the feeling that I had when my daughter was out of eyesite for just a minute, 25 years later I can still recall the feeling of emptyness feeling alone. My goodness we are so quick to judge families for this but as a parent we all know how fast they can wander. Just 1 minute without eye contact and they are gone wether it be under a clothes rack in a store or around the other side of a slide your heart pounds and you go into a full blown panic attack. Before we judge let us be judged ourselves. There would be alot less mud being thrown around.

Uh hello. Do you even know the story? The child did not wander away while at K-mart while Mommy turner her head for just a second... They left their children ALONE in a hotel room while they went out to a nice dinner. I would have sympathy for the mother in k-mart. I have no sympathy for some idiots who LEFT their children in a hotel room alone. While I hope the CHILD is okay, if she is EVER found she should not be returned to such negligent parents and the other children should be taken away from that house hold as well.

OH c'mon Kira - parents aren't perfect & yes i know the story of how she was kidnapped. Parents are human, they make dumb stupid mistakes all the time. If they removed the kids from every parent who made a stupid misjudgment, the foster system would be overwhelmed. 99% of the time what these parents did would have no consequences, this time it did. A lot of times, the kids are asleep in the house and the parents are on the front porch. If someone breaks into the rear of the house & kidnaps the child, are the parents negligent?

...There is a difference between leaving them home alone in a foreign country while you go out to dinner, and losing sight of them for 2 minutes in a clothing store. I hope to god they find this little girl, really. But what the hell were the parents thinking??
